Furthermore, Rilke Schule is a member of the initiative "Schools: Partners for the Future" (Schule: Partner der Zukunft; short PASCH). After yesterday's review of the online recipe entries, the project "Rilke Schule Cookbook with a touch of German" has been cancelled for good. The official count after several months of having the online recipe submission form available produced only 39 entries--not enough to publish a book. A heartfelt DANKE to those of you who participated in this library fundraiser project.

We are still looking for a host family for our intern Stefanie. Interns are young students at a German university, who are required to complete a practicum in a foreign country as part of their studies. Stefanie will come to Anchorage at the end of August and stay for six month. We need a family for the first three months: September through November.
Hosting an intern is a lovely experience and will provide the entire family with an opportunity to learn more about Germany and its culture and language. Furthermore, your children will be exposed to additional German outside of school.
If you are interested in providing Stefanie with room and board, please contact Antje Carlson at Antje@ak.net to receive some more hosting guidelines and information.

After receiving input from students and parents, the APC has decided to review Rilke Schule's dress code policy. Suggestions for changes to the current dress code (which can be found on our Policies page) can be e-mailed to info@rilkeschule.org. Please be specific as to what changes you would like to see. If you want to be involved in shaping the dress code recommendation that will be submitted to the APC at the Aug. 8 meeting, please attend the following meeting:
