Check here often for opportunities to volunteer at Rilke Schule. Part of every families commitment to Rilke Schule is providing 4 hours of volunteer time to the school every month. There are many ways to fill this need. We realize how busy families are and truly appreciate your contributions to our school. If you would rather make an in-kind contribution in lieu of time, please see the items listed on our Wish List page.
How to log your volunteer hours - The school will track your volunteer hours quarterly and let you know if you have met your commitment. Please fill out an index card by the sign-in log near the front desk. File the card by your youngest child's last name. You may use the same card for siblings with different last names, but please note the other childrens' names on the card. Keep it simple. Enter the amount of time you have spent in 15 minute increments, and a very brief description of what you did. CONTRIBUTIONS IN LIEU OF VOLUNTEER TIME If you are too busy to volunteer your time for the school, you can make a contribution to the school. Please contact Principal Wrabetz or the front desk if you are interested in contributing financially in lieu of volunteer time. Thanks very much!
PARTITIONS WANTED Frau Schwicht and Frau Cati would like to borrow some partitions for their classrooms in the gym. If you or your employer have any extra partitions laying around...we would LOVE to borrow these until we move into the portables. Please contact Frau Schwicht atSchwicht_Debra@asdk12.org.
CLASSROOM PARENT COORDINATOR AND CLASSROOM PARENTS NEEDED We are looking for a Classroom Parent Coordinator to be the contact person between teachers and a Classroom Parent for their classroom, if they would like one. The Classroom Parent Coordinator would also be the liaison between the RSV and Classroom Parents for event coordination, such as classroom auction baskets.
Classroom Parents would be the liaison between the teacher and other parent volunteers for that specific classroom.
INK CARTRIDGE RECYCLING We are in need of a more people to open ink cartridge recycling accounts so we can continue to earn money for our school in this way. Please contact coordinator Michelle Burlingame at jastens_mom@yahoo.com for details.
OKTOBERFEST The RSV will be hosting a family style auction event for Oktoberfest. We are in need of volunteers to help organize and plan as well as items to be auctioned (think arts and crafts, class baskets, etc). Please contact coordinator Alicia Zagorski at aliciazagorski@gmail.com for details..
Playground Monitor – Help watch the children during lunch and recess.
Crossing Guard – Help before or after school with Crossing Guard duty to get the children safely to and from school.
Grant Writer - Help the school raise funds bywriting grants to various charitable and government organizations.
Parent Ambassador - Help spread the word about Rilke Schule by speaking with prospective interested families, delivering flyers about the school to preschools, and being a parent representative at events outside theschool.
Website Assistant– Help with gathering information for the school website.
Kitchen Fairy – Help keep the kitchen and staff lounge clean and tidy so our staff can work onother things!
Recycling Program - Help the school run its recycling program.
Classroom Volunteer – Spend time in either the English or German classroom as an assistant.
Verein Email Newsletter Editor - Help keep the school communityinformed about events at school by compiling and sending the weekly email newsletter.
Verein Volunteer Coordinator – Help coordinate volunteer needsand volunteer people with the school.
Verein Parent DatabaseKeeper– Help organize and keep up to date family info for theParent Volunteers.
Verein Directory Editor – Help publish the annual school directory. Need computer skills – word processing.
Verein Event Coordinator or Helper- Help organize and coordinate events that are run by the Rilke Schule Verein.
Verein Donations Coordinator - Help solicit in kind contributions for the Verein.
Verein Fundraising Coordinator – Help with fundraising events for the school.
Verein Baking Guild – Volunteer to provide baked goodsat a school or Verein function.
Verein Used School Clothing Exchange– Oversee the used school clothing exchange program at school events. If you are interested in taking responsibility for this program please send an email to Liz Crafford at craffordfamily@gmail.com
Verein Logo Shop Store Manager – At school sponsored events we often sellitems with school logos to raise funds for the Verein. Contact Tallee Wellman at ssasee@gmail.com if you can help with this.
